Giving Tuesday Campaign 2023 - Send a Kid to Summer Camp!

We hope you will consider supporting children who want to attend the 2024 TRAM Summer Camp hosted by the Huss Project. Our summer camp only costs $160 per student and we are raising scholarship funds to support anyone who cannot afford to attend. Our goal of $4,000 will fully scholarship twenty-five students.

The TRAM Summer Camp is a science-based day camp and will be held June 10-13, 2024 at the Huss Project in Three Rivers.

Please help if you can. Every donation makes a difference. Each $160 donation pays for one future Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, or Neil deGrasse Tyson to experience four days of exciting science education outdoors.

You could wait until Giving Tuesday... or you could donate today!

Either way, thank you so much for your support!

Donations

Thank you everyone who donated to TRAM in 2022! We couldn't offer a free after-school program to Three Rivers youth without your support.

Although we focus our donation drives around our two fundraising events in March and July and our Giving Tuesday/holiday donation letter in November/December, we accept donations all year long! What is TRAM worth to you? Please donate using the link below:

The staff and board of Three Rivers Area Mentoring thanks you for your support!

And so do our students!

All monetary gifts will be directly used to fund TRAM programs and support the youth in our community. Donations can be made through the website or by contacting the office. TRAM is partially funded by the St. Joseph County United Way and the Three Rivers Community Foundation.

Volunteer Opportunities

All you need is a little time and you can change the life of a child.

Mentoring

TRAM is looking for responsible adults and high school students who are willing to mentor school-aged children for one hour a week.

We will intentionally match mentors with a child through our interview process to find a match who has similar interests as them.

Site-based mentoring  - Mentors meet with their mentee one hour a week at their school during the school day or in the After-School Program classroom during program hours (3-6).

We ask mentors to volunteer for the full school year. Mentors and Mentees can continue their relationship from year to year if their choose, but are not obligated to do so.

TRAM offers support to each of our mentors. We train all mentors prior to matching them with their mentee. Our staff keeps in regular communication with mentors to monitor progress and to offer advice and encouragement. Periodically, we may offer additional training sessions to keep mentors updated and to receive feedback.

After-School Program

TRAM is looking for volunteers to help after school one afternoon a week from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

After-School Program volunteers help assist program staff and invest in the youth in the program.

Our After-School Program focuses on helping our kids ascertain more about themselves, and how they can contribute to the world around them. They learn how to build important connections with people. We utilize focused homework and academic help on a regular basis. The kids get exposure to different types of creative arts and receive character education to learn what it means to be a person of good character.

The After-School Program offers a nutritious snack and incorporates games, hands-on presenters, and field trips in order to promote overall success through a safe after school environment. We follow the Three Rivers School calendar, so, if school is closed for any reason, we are too.

Volunteers help with homework, snack, crafts, games, and monitoring the classroom.
